During my band days touring through Japan I found peace in the morning ritual of a Japanese breakfast. Though rare on our touring budget, when we did indulge, by luck or by fortune, it was perfect every time. It's not flashy—it’s nourishing, delicious and frankly sets expectations. Every element has purpose.
Typical Plate Includes:
Thick-sliced milk bread or steamed rice
Sunny-side-up egg, bright orange/red yolk
Light salad with sesame dressing
Miso soup
Grilled fish (mackerel or salmon) ("by luck" scenario)
Balanced, satisfying, and easy to digest, these breakfasts reset the body for another grueling (but amazing) day on the road.
